Eastern Shoshone Department of Family Services.

We envision a department which:
“Promotes preservation of Indian families”
• Helps protect all Children at risk;
• Promotes preservation of Indian families;
• Encourages individuals to improve quality of life by promoting personal accountability; independence and self-worth;
• Provide a continuum of care from the least to the most restrictive environment, and
• Prepares emotionally troubled and delinquent juveniles to be productive citizens.

MISSION:
• Provide temporary assistance in the development of responsible productive, and self-sufficient individuals;
• Provide treatment for, and hold emotionally and troubled youth accountable for behaviors;
• Administer programs consistently and in compliance with federal, state statutory, and executive order requirements.

Philosophy:
• The ESDFS philosophy, in delivering social services to families is based on the concepts of family preservation with a balanced approach of child and family services.
• Our services are result-oriented and measured by outcome-based strategies.
• Our focus is on prevention of children being placed out of home through family preservation, public education, and community involvement.
• Recipients of services are included as part of the team in our planning and delivery of service.

Goals:
• To implement a woman’s & children drug & alcohol treatment shelter.
• To have emergency placement home(s) for children.
• To implement adult protection services.
• To maintain family stability and reunification of children.
• To have a model APS and CPS program for our reservation.
